A message from Sondra Wolfenden
Welcome to our Junior School and ELC at Corio Campus, a place where learning is grounded in connection, curiosity and a deep respect for the land on which we gather.
Our campus brings together students from Early Learning through to Year 12 in one connected community. This offers a rare and powerful continuity of learning, where our youngest learners grow alongside our senior students, and where every stage of development is known, valued and nurtured.
We embrace the rich opportunities to learn both indoors and outdoors. Our environment invites adventure, sparks curiosity and encourages children to explore, to wonder and to develop a genuine understanding of the natural world. Through rich bush experiences and outdoor learning, our students form a meaningful connection to the land, one that fosters responsibility, respect and a sense of belonging.
As Loris Malaguzzi, founder of the Reggio Emilia approach to education, so powerfully reminds us, “The wider the range of possibilities we offer children, the more intense will be their motivations and the richer their experiences.” This belief underpins all that we do. We see each child as capable, curious and full of potential, and we are intentional in creating opportunities that allow them to thrive.
Guided by the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), our approach to learning is inquiry-driven, concept-based and connected to the world around us. Students are encouraged to ask questions, take action and develop a deep understanding of themselves as learners and as global citizens.
Alongside this, the principles of Positive Education are embedded across our campus. We prioritise wellbeing, resilience and a strong sense of self, supporting our students to develop the skills, dispositions and mindsets needed to flourish both in school and in life.
At the heart of our campus is a commitment to developing not only capable learners, but thoughtful and compassionate young people. We intentionally cultivate civility, kindness and empathy, supporting each child to grow with integrity and to contribute positively to their community.
Our programmes balance strong foundations in literacy and numeracy with opportunities for exploration, creativity and real-world learning. In this way, students come to understand themselves, each other and the world around them with confidence and care.
There is a beauty and a joy to learning here, found in shared experiences, in the strength of relationships, and in the sense of belonging that defines our community. Every child is known, every voice is valued, and every learner is supported to flourish.
We are proud of what we are building together and warmly welcome you to be part of this journey.
