Earlier this year, we had the joy of opening our purpose-built Junior School at Corio Campus, catering for students from ELC through to Year 4. Due to unprecedented enrolment demand, Phase 2 activates the progression of the planned development of Junior School as we enter 2027 and work towards 2028. Phase 2 will commence with the construction of Field Stations adjacent to the Bostock Centre building, which will house Years 5 and 6 students by 2028.
To support this transition, our current Year 4 students will continue to be located at the Junior School site when they move into Year 5 in 2027 as part of an enhanced PYP experience, intentionally designed for the upper primary years. This will initially be achieved by using a temporary Field Station whilst the permanent facility is under construction.
“These world-class learning spaces will amplify the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), thus enabling deep connections between classroom-based learning and the natural environment, and opportunities with the School’s Pillars of Adventure, Positive, and Creative Education,” Principal Rebecca Cody said in a statement to the community.
“As our primary-aged students progress through to Years 5 and 6 at the Junior School, they will be offered increased opportunity for independence and challenge as they move from the Bostock Centre into the Field Stations,” Ms Cody continued. “In addition to this, they will also be provided opportunities to connect with students in Years 7 & 8 as they work towards Secondary School. This approach will enable age-appropriate points of engagement specific to early adolescence, supporting cognitive and social development to strengthen educational transitions.”
