The School was thrilled to welcome students and families to our new Junior School and Early Learning Centre (ELC) at Corio Campus for the first time on Tuesday 21 April 2026 for the commencement of Term 2 classes.
This exciting new chapter for the School completes the full relocation of Bostock House from Noble Street, Newtown, to the expansive Corio Campus. Nestled among nature and on the edge of a Ramsar-listed wetland of international significance, the Junior School’s purpose-built learning environments were years in the making, designed collaboratively to inspire curiosity, creativity and an enduring love of learning. “From the idea of Timbertop to the introduction of co-education, our School has a proud heritage of innovation,” Principal, Rebecca Cody, said. “The new Junior School at Corio Campus is emblematic of the progressive and pioneering spirit of our School – a significant strategic project, a transformational Timbertop moment, and an incredible opportunity to bring our ELC to Year 12 learners together on the one campus for the very first time.”
Students and staff visited the new Junior School for a morning in the last week of Term 1 to familiarise themselves with the surrounds. Our youngest learners were encouraged to “notice the little things, the grand big things, the imaginary, and sometimes, hidden things” around their new school, through a reading of Noticing by Kobi Yamada. In a callback during her address at today’s assembly in the Junior School breezeway, Rebecca noticed that she was in the room with trailblazers. “You are blazing a new path,” she said. “You are lighting up a new path for Geelong Grammar School. It’s never been done before. You are doing it. This is an historic day for this school. It will never be repeated.”
