Education is often described as the ultimate gift. The accuracy of this statement could not be more apparent than in the experience of the 54 new scholars who joined Geelong Grammar School in 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Thursday 12 March our community of new scholars assembled with their families, their teachers, and the donors who support them, to celebrate the gift that is a scholarship to our School. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2026, the educational journey of some 183 students is enabled through the support of a scholarship. The recipients of these gifts are representative of the diversity of the GGS community and their contributions are equally varied and valued. All represent the hopes and ambitions of their families and the many supporters of the Geelong Grammar Foundation across the past 50 years who have contributed to making possible the gift of a scholarship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gemma Bond (Yr 12 He) provided a welcome to our new scholars at the event and a warm and sincere vote of thanks to the generous donors who enabled her education and that of others in the room. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis scholarship means everything to me. My own dream is now a life that I wake up to every day, and I could not be more grateful. I truly cannot put into words how honoured I am to be a GGS Scholarship recipient, and to able to experience a version of myself I would\u2019ve never met otherwise, whilst making unique lifelong friendships I will cherish forever. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thank you for supporting me, for supporting us. The impacts of your generosity extend far beyond this room, and even beyond this School. Because of you, students like me are given opportunities that truly shape who we become.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Scholarships change lives. Right now, they are more important than ever. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the past 50 years, the generosity of our community has enabled the Geelong Grammar Foundation to contribute to the educational journeys of some 1,669 scholarship and bursary recipients. It is a tangible demonstration of a belief in education as a force for good and a shared commitment to the adventure, curiosity and character that define a Geelong Grammar education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are grateful to the many donors who continue to make possible the gift of a Geelong Grammar School education through scholarships, thank you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
