Set in the surrounds of the Isabel Fraser Room of the State Library of Victoria, the annual Melbourne Biddlecombe Society lunch event on Thursday 8 October 2026 welcomed nearly one hundred guests.

In the 50th year of the Geelong Grammar Foundation, guests joined together to hear from Principal, Rebecca Cody before settling in for an entertaining and enlightening Q&A with the 2026 Geelong Grammar School Captains, Mimi Bradley (Yr12 Cl) and Austin Olsen-Walker (Yr12 FB). In a session led by Chair of the Biddlecombe Society, Jim Gall (Cu’91), the captains spoke about their role, the privilege and responsibility of their position and the legacy they are both part of and contributing to at Geelong Grammar School.

Mimi reflected on the impact of a scholarship on her journey through the School. As the inaugural recipient of the Boz Parsons Scholarship, Mimi commented on the powerful impression Boz’s story has had on her throughout her time at GGS, motivating and inspiring her across the past four years.

Chair of Geelong Grammar Foundation, Vanessa Mahon, presented nine new membership pins to members representing OGGs and current and past parents. As was articulated by Jim Gall, no matter the connection, all those with a link to GGS have had an ‘education’ at the School, and all are important and valued in the membership of the Biddlecombe Society.

The most recent membership presentations take the total number of Biddlecombe Society members to 325, reflecting a deep commitment to the ongoing prosperity of GGS.

As we approach another important milestone in 2027, the 25th year of the Biddlecombe Society, we look forward with gratitude and delight at the generosity of all those who continue to support the School and the Foundation.
