With a view to Timbertop framed perfectly in the expansive windows of the award winning Delatite Winery dining room, the setting was just right for a special Biddlecombe Society gathering in the 50th year of the Geelong Grammar Foundation.

Hosted by Jim Gall (Cu’91), Chair of the Biddlecombe Society, the event welcomed members and guests from across northeast Victoria.

Tom Hall, Vice Principal Residential Education, Care and Community and past head of Timbertop, was on hand to share updates about the School and the current Timbertop programme, inviting guests to participate in the Timbertop Open Morning the following day.

In a particularly special conversations, the architect of the award winning venue, Lucy Clemenger (Knox-Knight, Cl’91), recounted the journey she and winery owner, David Ritchie (P’80), went on to achieve the remarkable structure that now sits in the shadow of Mount Timbertop.

Chair of Geelong Grammar Foundation, Vanessa Mahon was present to welcome guests and present a new membership pin to Russell Luckock (M’62).

Jim Gall made particular mention of the strong numbers in attendance at the first ever Timbertop Biddlecombe Society Luncheon, and the special opportunity to welcome a number of past Geelong Grammar staff members who resided in and around Mansfield.

We continue to celebrate 50 years of the Geelong Grammar Foundation across 2026 and look forward to another year of celebration in 2027, to mark the 25th anniversary of the Biddlecombe Society.
