The steps to enrolment

We invite you to experience the vibrancy and vigour of our School by exploring our website and if possible, join us for a Discovery Day, group or personalised tour at our campus.
Each campus is a truly remarkable place made up of passionate people who care deeply for the education and wellbeing of young people. It is difficult to convey this and the spirit of our School through words and images alone, and we encourage you to accept this invitation to visit us in person.

Our School accepts applications for enrolment any time after birth. To apply for a place at any of our four campuses, please complete the online Enrolment Application Form. A non-refundable application fee is payable per application. A copy of your child’s birth certificate and passport, most recent school reports (if applicable), and any medical or health related professional reports is required when applying. If English is not your child’s first language, and depending on the year level of entry, we may request an English Language Proficiency assessment to ensure that your child thrives when they start with us.

The online application can be saved to complete later, using a unique code which is emailed to you once you start the application process. Applications are accepted at any time; however, due to demand and to avoid disappointment we suggest that you apply as early as possible so that we can maintain communication for available places.

Upon successful completion of an online application, a confirmation email will be sent to you and your child will be added to our enrolment register appropriate to the intended year of entry.
A member of our Admissions team will make contact to schedule a student interview, typically one to two years prior to the intended date of entry, depending on the campus of entry. Please ensure you advise the School of any changes to your contact details so that we have up to date information on the enrolment register.

Prior to the interview, you will be asked to complete a pre-enrolment questionnaire.  Interviews are conducted with prospective students and families by the Admissions Manager and relevant Heads of Campus. Given the rigorous boarding conditions of Timbertop in particular, great care is taken during the interview and enrolment process to ensure each student will thrive. Tours of the Timbertop campus are offered in the year prior to enrolment.

Please understand the successful lodgement of an enrolment application, with accompanying enrolment application fee, does not guarantee a place at Geelong Grammar School.

Following an interview, a formal offer may be issued if a place is available and at the discretion of the School. Once a letter of offer has been received, families can accept a place by completing the required enrolment documentation, providing school reports, English language test and NAPLAN results (if applicable) and paying a non-refundable enrolment fee by the date stipulated. Fees are payable one term prior to the term to which they relate, therefore students starting at the commencement of the calendar year will be billed Term 1 fees at the commencement of Term 4 (September/October) in the year prior.

Prior to joining, parents and students will be provided with opportunities to become familiar with the School, participate in orientation events and form relationships with teachers and fellow students commencing in the same year. We look forward to welcoming you to our inclusive community.
