Another GGS treasure from the School Archives
In 1966, His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, aged 17, came as a student to Timbertop. Charles, as he was known to everyone, ran, skied, hiked and chopped wood alongside everyone else, earning the blisters to prove it. His experiences were humorously captured by the well-known English cartoonist Larry (aka Terrence Parkes) in a series of nine cartoons which were published in Punch. The original drawings were presented to the school by the British Council.
